John Deere

Brief:  John Deere approached Big Idea to assist in the process of demonstrating John Deere’s appreciation of its clients. The eastern Free State was identified as one of the key geographical areas where John Deere not only wanted to thank existing clients, but also attract new prospective clients.

Execution: Big Idea arranged a Golf Day on behalf of – John Deere and Afgri at the Clarens Golf Course in Clarens.

Clients and prospective clients (farmers) in surrounding areas where invited to participate in a four-ball, attend the evening’s prize giving and participate in a charity auction, donating towards a community charity.

We also hosted a ladies high-tea with a guest speaker who entertained and thanked the wives and partners of the farming delegates.

Event responsibilities:

  • Event management of golf day.
  • Invitation design and distribution.
  • RSVP management.
  • Sourcing of gifts, prizes and items to auction.
  • Arrange and source MC and auctioneer.
  • Arranged sound, music, photographer and videographer.
  • Collation of gift handouts at registration.
  • Management of accommodation.
Agri-sector Unity Forum (ASUF)

Brief: Big Idea was approached by the ASUF founders to facilitate the press conference for the official launch of ASUF, which is the over-arching agricultural body for all agricultural bodies. The launch was held in Stellenbosch, and the then-Minister of Agriculture and other government officials attended the event.

Press conference responsibilities:

  • Identified media, generated the media invitation list .
  • Compilation of media invite and distribution.
  • Management of RSVPs and media attendance.
  • Compilation of press packs.
  • Management of media on the day and distribution of press packs.
  • Set up of interviews and facilitation thereof.
  • Distribution of press release and photographs to non-attending media.
Grundfos

Brief: Big Idea was approached to manage the PR during the unveiling of Grundfos’ new Greenstar Building.  Big Idea was also commissioned several months later to manage the PR during the official announcement of the five-star grading.

PR Responsibilities:

  • Identified media, generated the media invitation  and distributed invitation.
  • Management of media attendance.
  • Post event publicity and interviews.
  • Drafting the press release and distribution/ circulation thereof.

Results:

Big Idea obtained publicity for Grundfos to the value of more than R 1million across print, radio and TV.

Biominerale

Brief: Big Idea was requested to redesign the Bio Mineral brand and apply the new corporate identity to the design of its website, as well as the necessary supporting material, such as advertising and marketing material to ensure a consistent brand message.

Brand, marketing and advertising responsibilities:

  • Modify existing Bio Mineral corporate identity and generate a basic corporate identity (CI) manual.
  • Design of website corporate image.
  • Application of new brand to collateral.
  • Design of various advertisements [Afrikaans and English].
Bosveld Kunsmis

Brief: Big Idea was requested to redesign the Bosveld Kunsmis brand and apply the new corporate identity to the design of its website, as well as the necessary supporting material, such as advertising and marketing material to ensure a consistent brand message.

Brand, marketing and advertising responsibilities:

  • Corporate Identity (CI) and basic CI manual.
  • Design of website corporate image.
  • Application of new brand to collateral.
  • Design of various advertisements [Afrikaans and English].
